Whenever I read the word fantasy, Harry Potter series instantly comes to my mind. But I always wanted to try some stories in that genre but was unable to find something interesting. I just wanted to make my mind and heart know that fantasy consists of other things too. I came across this book and was tempted to read this. It was a good read and I give it 3 stars out of 5.
This story revolves around Anand and Maithiri. It can be classified as a love story broadly. However, this story is not just about love. It is a ride that is full of varied emotions. The story has elements of love, pain, sufferings, happiness, sufferings, confusions and many more emotions that people face every day. There have been two constant suspense questions throughout the story- why Maithiri’s destination was Anand and what is the guilt in him? Their love story had more of troubles and less of beautiful moments. Things were not smooth until the end. And you will have to read the book to find out what happens in the end.
Beginning with the cover of the book, it was okay. A man standing so close to moon looks interesting but making the image more clear and using more colours would have made this cover better for me. I did not like the title much. It was too long that it did not appeal much to me because I like crisp titles. The plot of the story is good. People often read happy love stories and the struggles are hidden but this one was not like that. A different plot and praises to the author for thinking this. The narration was disappointing at places. The things moved slowly and kept revolving around the same idea. The story seemed to be unnecessarily dragged at some places. But the plot tried to lift up the narration.
Pick up this book if you do not want to read an extremely happy love story. Also, make sure that you have a good vocabulary before picking up this book because some words made me look up to the dictionary which broke my reading flow.
